A spontaneous Sunday trip led to Rapperswil. While planning the day, the recently reopened island of Ufenau stood out as the perfect addition.

After wandering through the almost empty streets of the old town, the route continued down to the lake, where a surprisingly long queue had already formed for the boat named “LINTH”.

On the island, everything felt slower and more peaceful. Ufenau belongs to Einsiedeln Abbey and includes a church as well as a restaurant. Swimming, grilling and camping are not allowed, and even card payments are not accepted there.

The return journey added one more memorable touch, as the historic steamship “STADT RAPPERSWIL” picked up passengers for the ride back.
