The route came as a recommendation from a colleague. The T2 difficulty level was checked online in advance, and a hike at the lower end of the scale seemed manageable.

The hike begins with a cable car ride to Mettmen. From there, the trail starts at Lake Garichti.

Up until the final ascent, the hike feels very manageable overall.

Then comes the final section that had already been mentioned: steep, covered with loose rocks, and demanding a bit of extra determination.

At the top, at 2273 metres above sea level, Leglerhütte offers a place to stop for a meal or even spend the night. The reward is a beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding mountain landscape. The ascent takes around four hours. The descent continues on the other side of the mountain, where a pretty alpine lake appears near the beginning of the route.

The descent usually takes a little less time, although the trail can still feel quite long towards the end.
