Early in the morning, it was not clear whether the outing would work out at all. A thick grey layer covered Adliswil, and there was no sign of blue sky.
The ride up on the Adliswil Felsenegg cable car changed that quickly. About halfway through the ascent, the cabin entered the cloud layer. Above it, bright sunshine and clear blue sky were suddenly waiting.
From the station, the walk continued towards Restaurant Felsenegg. Along the way, there were calm forest sections, autumn meadows and repeated views across the sea of fog.
That contrast made the morning feel so special. Below lay a blanket of clouds, while above it the Swiss Alps appeared in clear light.
